Our Story
The story of Hunter Building Group isn’t a traditional story of how the owners built the company from scratch, suffered through recessions and expanded during real estate bubbles. Rather, our story only makes sense when its combined with the stories of all the people who allowed us to help them make their dream home a reality and businesses who allowed us to contribute to their success with the highest build and design standards.
Who We Are
Hunter Building Group is a full service design/build (general contractor) company, owned by Chris and Jolene Vallejos and headquartered in Flagstaff, AZ. Over the past couple of decades the Hunter commitment has been a business model that has fostered countless referrals, for everything from small bathroom remodels to full commercial facility construction. You see, we built our business one project at a time by delivering quality, unparalleled service and complete dedication to meeting budgets and timelines.
In the spirit of growing the Hunter reputation, Chris and Jolene hand pick every team member for each project to assure the highest standards of quality and service are adhered to for every customer and every time. Each member of the Hunter team brings experience, dedication and quality craftsmanship to every project.

Hunter Building Group is a member of the Northern Arizona Building Association (NABA) where Chris actively participates and holds leadership offices. NABA is a non-profit trade association and the only construction trade association in northern Arizona representing general contractors, home builders, subcontractors, developers, real estate professionals, suppliers, architects, engineers, mortgage companies, banks, design professionals and many other businesses.
In addition to supporting the industry and promoting integrity in the contracting business, the Hunter Organization supports the area’s youth with many sponsorships of programs such as, Northern Arizona Youth Football, Continental Little League and is dedicated to support causes that touch families such as the American Cancer Society and Big Brother Big Sisters of Flagstaff.
