Before the first shovel enters the ground, every successful custom home is carefully imagined through architectural renderings and detailed floor plans.

Breaking Ground on a Custom Home
With the planning complete and permits secured, construction officially begins. The first few days focus on preparing the homesite, establishing the foundation, and laying the groundwork for what will soon become a custom home built to last for generations.
With the building pad complete, the vision for the custom home becomes much easier to imagine. Careful grading and site preparation have established a solid foundation for construction while positioning the home to take full advantage of the surrounding mountain views and natural landscape.
Laying Out the Footprint of a Custom Home
Before excavation begins, the footprint of the future home is carefully laid out on the building pad. These layout lines mark the exact location of the foundation, ensuring every wall, room, and structural element is positioned precisely according to the architectural plans. It's the first opportunity to see the home's size, shape, and orientation take form on the property.
With the home's footprint established, construction moves into one of the most critical phases of the build—forming and pouring the footings that will support the entire structure. Carefully engineered and constructed, the foundation provides the strength, stability, and precision needed for every stage that follows.
As the foundation takes shape, high-performance spray foam insulation is applied to create a tightly sealed building envelope. By reducing air infiltration and improving energy efficiency, spray foam helps maintain year-round comfort, enhances indoor air quality, and contributes to the long-term durability and performance of the custom home. Together, these early construction steps establish a solid foundation for a home built to withstand the elements while providing exceptional comfort for years to come.
With the layout complete, construction moves into the installation of the foundation formwork and the pouring of the concrete footings. Although much of this work will eventually disappear beneath the finished home, it provides the solid, engineered foundation that supports every wall, floor, and roof system. Investing the time to get these details right ensures the home is built for generations of lasting performance.
Preparing the Foundation for Concrete
With the footings complete, the foundation is carefully prepared for the foundation pour. Reinforcing steel, formwork, utilities, and other critical components are inspected and positioned before any concrete is placed. This preparation ensures the foundation is built with the strength, precision, and durability needed to support the custom home for generations.
